You thought the Combine were bad... Jeeze... You just walked through the gates of Hell; what you've seen out there is fuckin' Disneyland." -- Nick Forres, Sector Zero resident. Sector Zero - A land twisted by unknown forces and in the grip of an infestation far worse than that of the Combine. This is no holiday resort; there may be no Combine here, but there's always Borderworld creatures, human scum... and they are the least of your worries. The rumour-mill here is hot with tales of scandals, cover-ups and amoral experimentation - and that was before the portal storms ripped this land apart and spewed forth horrors that exist nowhere else on Earth. Strange creatures, and even stranger people, roam these parts and not a lot of them are likely to greet you with anything less than a pine box and six feet of earth. There's only one piece of advice for any prospective visitor to these shores - Don't run out of bullets. "There's a reason the Combine don't come here... and it ain't because of some half-arsed Resistance movement." Note: This is just a teaser. I am not accepting Character Sheets at this time (since I haven't given any guidelines for them yet, but that doesn't seem to stop some people.). This RP will not be starting until one of the other Resistance RPs has reached a conclusion - besides, I am still ironing out some of the issues with game mechanics at the moment. |

The Wild (as a generic term) refers to the universe of Sector Zero and its associated people, creatures and locales. Currently I have three plots (RPs) sorted out for The Wild universe. Once I have run the first RP (and the nature of Sector Zero is uncovered) I'll throw the doors wide open for people to create their own RPs in the universe of The Wild. So (as a rather roundabout method of reaching the answer to your question lol) yes, The Wild is a setting

Here's a more formal introduction, taking care not to give too much away; The debut roleplay, The Wild: Salvation, sees players take their first steps into a new world. Forget what you've seen out there in the Combine-occupied territories; this land is lawless, strange and potentially the most dangerous place on Earth, with bandits and low-lives just as common as the ravenous creatures that roam the various districts, and just as fierce. After escaping a combine prison and transhuman conversion complex, the players take on the role of a group of refugees fleeing into neighbouring Sector Zero. Little do they know that they will play perhaps the most important part in Sector Zero's history, and perhaps even the future of mankind itself! Prepare to see a different face to the post-portal storm Earth than you've seen hitherto. As the refugees it falls to you to help the residents battle a new threat to their existence and secure your own safe passage in the process. |
