I'm currently writing a journal for Mal, and I'm wondering: When is the "Black Mesa Incident"/When does the RP for the Black Mesa begin?
Are we using the game's release date (1998) or present day (2008)? Or are we using another date all together?

I was hoping to scrape together information for a timeline myself. Mostly because I need to know when the Borealis went missing The Half Life Saga's timeline is pretty good but unfortunately doesn't include that bit for me. I'd say 2000-ish. If you want to just say "all current ages are as of Resonance Cascade" that'd work at least to keep everyone on the same rough time scale.

The resonance cascade happened in 200X.
That's as close to an official date you'll find, I'm afraid...
I don't know what to say for a date to use :/

Why not 2008? lol saves a lot of hassle when it's 200X lol (Plus I kinda started writing for 2008 being the date lol)

Sure, its now and its within the 200X confines that Valve give.
2008 it is... Unless there are any objections?

I don't mind.
I couldn't yet find any information about when the Borealis vanished. By the time HL2 rolls around, it's "legendary" but we know they were competing with Black Mesa on the de-icing project (that's what I recall, anyway, about the specifics about their competing projects in the slideshow). So they would have been doing something with teleportation AND this de-icing project ... which turned into GLaDOS, but at some point the Borealis vanished.
... Any guesses? It's going to affect my Aperture girl.

We could start a new age.
Right now in the Half-Life series (HL2Ep2) would be about 10 years after the resonance cascade, so 20 pRC (post Resonance Cascade)?

HL2 is accepted as ~20 years after the Resonance Cascade, actually.
I'm on Steam Forums too much... >.>
