Name: Lieutenant Carl T Mitchell
Species: Human
Side: Black Mesa
Role: Field Commander of ECRU forces and liason to ECRU superiors.
Description: Lieutenant Mitchell acts as a commander for the ECRU forces “on the ground”, providing orders, schedules and training as per the requirement by the higher ranking officers. Handles most of the duties pertaining to liasing with Administration and the other departments of Black Mesa. If anything goes wrong, it's Lieutenant Mitchell that has to answer for it. This stilted command structure responsibility, combined with the Science Team and Administration's patronising behaviour has worn him down over the years, and holds low opinions of both. Trusts his soldiers to the ends of the Earth, and takes a personal attack on their competence as a personal attack on his own.
Name: Corporal Zack Wilson
Species: Human

Role: Alpha Squad ECRU Operative.
Description: Zack has been with the ECRU for about 6 months. Arriving at the rank of Private First Class, he worked hard with his training, and rose to Corporal within 3 months. To this day, he uses every free moment on training courses or at the firing range, and is well on track for promotion. Although he works hard, he keeps his friends close, and is partial to a great night out, providing he isn't on duty the next day...
Name: Private First Class Chase F Tallow

Role: Alpha Squad ECRU Operative.
Description: Chase is a decent soldier, with a high weapon proficiency, but his battlesense is somewhat lacking at times. Often ribbed about an incident in which he collided with a spawn sac of Snarks while clearing out an infestation. His rather cowardly retreat making it an amusing anecdote amongst his friends. He joined the ECRU 8 months ago, although his occasional lack of competence has prevented any advance past PFC.
Name: Private Lee Willis

Role: Alpha Squad ECRU Operative.
Description: Lee has served in the ECRU for 7 months, after a friendly-fire incident during his days in the Marine Corps. Originally a Gunnery Sergeant, he was discharged as part of a plea-bargin with the family of the soldier he killed as an alternative to jail time. Being a soldier is all Lee has known, so he applied for the ECRU. They overlooked the incident on the grounds of his proven skill in the field, but it limited his promotion prospects, and hence he has not risen above private in the entire time he's served in the ECRU. His peers have often said that if it wasn't for that incident, it would have been him as Lieutenant instead of Mitchell. Despite this, he does not resent Mitchell at all, and often accompanies him on patrol.
Name: Sergeant Lukas Moss
Species: Human
Side: Black Mesa
Role: Delta Squad ECRU Operative
Description: Cold and calculating, but a brilliant strategist nonetheless. Slightly less of a genius when it comes to getting his hands dirty, but a solid soldier all round. Lukas is well known for his strategising, and rose to the rank of Sergeant within two years of joining the USMC because of it, although he was incredibly displeased with the pay and the lack of close-quarters operations, which are his speciality. He was presented with an oppertunity at Black Mesa by his commanding officer, and who he was told was a representative of Black Mesa. Within the month he transferred to the ECRU on-site and assumed command of Delta Squad. Mitchell has known Moss since he transferred, but found his strategies to be based too heavily on probability and statistics, and not enough on instinct and heart, but found him invaluable, second only to one Malcom Connor, who outshone Lukas in his instincts and raw abilities. There is no doubt that if Mal had not joined the ECRU, Lukas would have been in his position.

Name: Dr Steven "Zippo" Xander
Species: Human
Side: Black Mesa
Role: Scientist, works in the Anomalous Materials labs
Description: Zippo is one of Flynn's longest (and only) friends in Black Mesa. A fellow joker, Zippo is also a hardworking scientist, dabbling in many thing. His main love, however, is the Anomalous Materials labs, and the chemistry that comes with it. He often gets wrapped up in his work when not with his friends, so wrapped up that he still forgets to ask his superior for a bigger lab coat (he got an old one when he first started, as they were still waiting for a new shipment). Easily identified from a distance because of his ginger hair and tall frame, he's the type of guy who makes friends in a matter of seconds. As for the nickname Zippo, even he doesn't know why Flynn calls him that, as everyone else calls him Steve.
Name: Advanced Battledroid Mk 1 "Dreadnought"
Species: Robotic
Side: Black Mesa
Role: Droid/Companion
Description: A battledroid designed by Flynn, he secretly put the first version of his AI program within this droid, just before the cascade. Now, it accompanies him, helping check for survivors, and acting as defense. Only armed with two power claws at the moment, Flynn plans to upgrade him with ranged weapons in the shoulder mounts.

Name: Corporal Isaac Lewis (22)
Species: Human
Side: H.E.C.U.
Role: Echelon Squad, Demolitions Expert
Description: Isaac was always that crazy pyromaniac kid. He burned every toy he ever had from the moment he knew what fire was and it only progressed when, at 15, he discovered several recipes for home-made explosives. By the time he was 17 he was making explosives on a level that came close to rivalling any professional. His parents were worried by this and urged him to join the US Marine Corp and go for demolitions expert. He got the position with ease despite his young age. After a year he was bored of the Marine lifestyle, but never left because of the explosives available to him. Then along came a bunch of government guys, offering jobs with higher pay and what they called "exciting combat prospects". Next thing he was stationed in Santego with Echelon Squad of the H.E.C.U., within a month the Lieutenant had given him the Demolitions expert position.
Name: Private First Class Kris Rogen (19)
Species: Human

Role: Echelon Squad, Scout
Description: With his father a hunter Kris learned to use weapons from a young age and became quickly proficient with them, excelling with scoped rifles. As soon as he was old enough he signed up to the infantry, soon finding himself transferred to a secretive unit at Santego Military Base, Arizona. The H.E.C.U., being a close quarters specialised unit initially insisted upon Rogen's discarding of his M24 and trained him with sub-machine guns. However, three weeks into training Rogen took his rifle to the Commanding Officer and proposed a bet; "
You choose one man and give him your pissy MP5k and put him up against me and my M24 in the close quarters training run. If he wins; I put it down. But he won't.". Kris' confidence was well deserved; he easily won the competition and was allowed to keep his sniper, now holding the position of squad Scout.
Name: Sergeant Dakaria Chipangura (39)
Species: Human
Side: H.E.C.U.
Role: Echelon Squad, Rifleman
Description: Dakaria, born in Botswana, grew up amongst military turmoil and held his first weapon at 5 years of age. By the time he was 10 he had killed more than once. At 18 his family was targeted due to something his father had done, he never discovered what, and he fled the country, eventually making his way to the US and managing to get a spot in the military using fake identification. After rising through the ranks quickly he was discharged and put on trail for fraud and numerous related offences. It was during the wait for his court appearance that he was approached by a military official who offered him a station with the H.E.C.U. and a clean slate. Needless to say, he accepted.

Role: Echelon Squad, Rifleman, 2IC (2nd In Command)
Description: As the child of wealthy parents Dean never got much attention, but he did get whatever he wanted. But unlike the other rich kids he knew, he hated it. Not having to work was something he hated intensely and he made it known when he made it to 18. While his parents were away on a business trip, as usual, he signed up with the US Navy. After gaining a position in the Navy Seals he remained in the navy for an extended time, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant before being approached by officials for the Army. Normally he'd have spat at the feet of any Army brass but these guys were different and the job they were offering sounded brilliant; "exciting combat prospects", was the term they used.

Role: Echelon Squad, Rifleman
Description: Samuel was British born and raised, known amongst friends as Sammy, but to enemies he was known as someone not to be trifled with. From an early age he showed himself to be an adept fighter, but he was not aggressive. Through high school he was friends with almost everyone... Everyone except the 'tough kids', the bullies, as such. They all despised him. Countless times he found himself in the principal's office after putting someone through hell for picking on someone.
Though the staff at the school commended him, the parents did not and he was expelled, much to the dismay of the staff and students. From here he moved on to a military college where he practised various forms of martial arts in his spare time, combining them to create his own unique style.
After graduating Sam tried to find a career as a professional fighter but didn't have the aggression or the drive required. Instead, upon suggestion of his father, he joined the army. He soon found himself in the SAS and soon after this found himself being approached by American government officials who offered him a place in a specialised unit in Santego. He accepted.

Description: Ted goes by his surname; Striker. Not much is known about him and he keeps it that way, only ever speaking when spoken to.
Despite his reclusive and quiet personality he is an exceptional soldier.

Side: US Government
Role: Arabella's Handler and main contact within the organisation
Description: Simon has always been there for Arabella ever since she was initiated into the Group. He used to be a field operative himself until he got some bad intel that led to him being captured for a year by FARC in Columbia. It was after this that he was given a desk job that involved handling intelligence. He vowed to make sure that all agents were given up to date data that would hopefully keep them all safe.

Role: Pet...
Description: A medium sized cat that is tortoiseshell in colour. Arabella found him wandering around bedraggled and lost when she was in Chicago. After posting up posters for a few weeks no-one came forward as the owner of Tom. So after a couple of months Arabella took Tom back with her to New York and when she was posted to Black Mesa Tom went with her. He very quickly made himself at home and discovered many hidey holes throughout the complex.
